Club Foundation
Rotary Club of Dhaka Mahanagar is our sponsored club. RTN Safina Rahman, PHF B PHS MD, District Governor 2014-15 was appointed as Governor’s Special Representative (GSR). Rtn Safina Rahman advice to Rtn Mortuja Ali, who was the Rotarian of Rotary Club Jhalakathi organize a new club. DSR Rtn Safina Rahman also proposed the name of the club to be “Dhaka Tilottoma”. Rtn Mortuja Ali took initiative to organize a meeting on May 125, 2013 and formed as provisional club namely “Rotary Club of Dhaka Tilottoma” and decided to meet weekly at every Saturday at the Bangladesh Club, House-13, Road-9, Sector-4, Dhaka-1230 after Magrib prayer. The 2nd meeting was held on 2nd June, 2013 at 6:30PM at the above venue and club constitution along with by-laws of the club was read by Rtn Mortuja Ali & it was unanimously adopted.
The first 3(three) meeting were presided over by Rtn Mortuja Ali. The election to the various offices of the Rotary Club of Dhaka Tilottoma was held on 16th June, 2013 at the regular weekly meeting of the club. The following Rotarians were elected to the office mentioned as per following:

There were 38 charter members.
Club meetings:
The club continued to meet after Magrib prayer every Saturday like the tea program/weekly meeting at Bangladesh Club Ltd. and also the meeting is continuing as decided earlier in the same venue.
It’s a memorable day for the club that the PDG Rtn Ghulam Mostafa, PHF, B, PHSM, MD signed our papers/documents towards a charter certificate. Finally, the charter certificate was issued on 6th August 2013 and signed by President Rotary International. It’s also notable here that our club was the first club signed by PDG Rtn Ghulam Mostafa while taking his oath as DG for 2013-14
Club progress:
The club membership generally hovered and the present membership is 38. Excellent fellowship, sincere dedication, and active involvement of the members in service to the community have been some of the fortes of the club. The club sponsored two Rotaract Club, namely “Rotaract club of Dhaka Tilottoma Spondon” and “Dhaka Tilottoma Bright” who are doing a good job. The achievement of the club is a donation to the poor’s, students, helping the patients, warm clothes distribution to the poor’s, the madrasahs in different areas of the country, making double unit comfort zone, and a Huge medical camp across the country that really thriving for the medical treatment, mega Sports event across the country, distribute wheelchair for the disabled people, The club donates a poor people to built-up a tin shed house at Comilla. Some of the members joined Rotary International Convention in Sydney, Australia, and Atlanta. A huge number of club members participate in all the district conferences, district meetings and district projects, and all other club activities.
Rotary Club Dhaka Tilottoma always celebrates DEI– Diversity, Equity, and inclusion. It doesn’t matter who you are, who you love, how you worship, whether you have disability,or what culture or country you are from. What matters is that you want to strengthen communities and take action to create lasting change. DEI is not just a recommended practice. It is necessary to Rotary’s success in providing meaningful leadership, networking and service opportunities today and in the future.
